Woman resting in a hammock surrounded by tropical greenery

The courage to rest before you are ready.

We have been taught to wear exhaustion like a badge of honour. The longer we push, the more we prove our worth. But what if the bravest thing you could do today is not to push harder but to stop?

Rest is often framed as something you earn after the work is done. After the deadline. After the kids are in bed. After the weekend. But true rest is not transactional. It is not a reward for productivity. It is a birthright.

The women I work with often tell me they do not know how to rest. Their minds race. Their bodies twitch. They feel guilty for sitting still. This is not a personal failing — it is a conditioned response to a world that profits from your depletion.

But here is what I have learned: rest is where transformation happens. It is in the pause that the nervous system recalibrates. It is in the stillness that the next right step reveals itself. It is in the silence that you hear your own voice again.

You do not need to earn rest. You need to allow it.
